Eid beauty prep: what to book and when
Eid beauty prep made simple: a week-by-week timeline from colour to blow-dry, plus Ramadan tips and why to book early in Casablanca.
Every year it's the same scene: in the last week of Ramadan, everyone wants a blow-dry, fresh nails and a hammam the day before Eid. Stress-free Eid beauty prep comes down to two things: planning ahead and booking early. Here is a clear, treatment-by-treatment timeline so you reach the big day rested, styled and ready for family visits, whether it's Eid al-Fitr or Eid al-Adha.
Why booking early before Eid matters
The days before Eid are among the busiest of the year for salons in Casablanca. Late afternoon and evening slots go first, especially during Ramadan, when many women prefer to come after iftar (ftour). Those who wait until the last day often end up with no slot, or one at an awkward time.
Booking early also lets you spread treatments over several days, which is kinder to skin and hair. Colour, waxing and a hammam in one afternoon is a lot for skin already tired from fasting.
Your Eid beauty prep timeline, week by week
Two to three weeks before
- Colour and cut: colour, highlights, balayage or root colour. The shade has time to settle, and there is room to adjust if needed. Remember the allergy patch test 48 hours before any colour.
- Hair treatment: a protein or hydrating treatment restores body and shine before the festive blow-dries.
One week before
- Face: a Basic facial or Hydrafacial so skin is clear and glowing, with no redness on the day.
- Brows: brow glazing or eyebrow waxing. Any slight redness has time to fade.
Four to five days before
- Hammam: black soap and kessa scrub for soft, clean skin (here is how the ritual works). Doing it now, before waxing and lashes, keeps steam away from freshly waxed skin and fresh lash products.
Two to three days before
- Waxing: legs, arms, bikini or full body wax. Avoid doing it the day before if your skin marks easily.
- Lashes: a lash lift, after the hammam and never before it.
- Nails: Semilac gel polish or BIAB lasts for weeks, so it will be flawless for Eid and the visits after.
- Feet: a spa pedicure before the babouches and sandals come out.
The day before
- Blow-dry: the evening before, or that morning if you can find a slot.
On Eid day
A light Day makeup for prayer and family breakfast, or Guest makeup if there is a party in the evening.
Ramadan and beauty: smart habits
While fasting, skin and hair can lack water. A few simple tips:
- Drink regularly between iftar (ftour) and suhoor (shour); skin shows dehydration quickly.
- Choose hydrating treatments over harsh ones in the days before Eid.
- If you feel weak during the day, book after iftar, especially for the hammam, where heat is more tiring.
- After waxing, use a simple moisturiser and avoid direct sun for a few days.
If you have a particular skin or health condition, ask your doctor before scheduling a hammam or waxing while fasting.
Mistakes that ruin Eid beauty prep
- Trying a dramatic new colour three days before the celebration.
- Waxing, scrubbing and a hammam all on the same day.
- Cutting your own cuticles the night before.
- Forgetting to book the blow-dry, hoping to find a slot that morning.
Making your Eid blow-dry last
Your Eid blow-dry has to survive cooking, tea, visits and sometimes Casablanca's humidity. Sleep on a satin pillowcase or with hair loosely tied in a high bun. Keep a small brush and dry shampoo in your bag, and stay away from steam right after styling. More habits in our long-lasting blow-dry guide.
Booking your Eid visits at Chicas
At Chicas Beauty & Spa in Aïn Sebaâ, the whole timeline can be spread over a few visits from the treatment menu: Colour, Highlights, Balayage, Protein treatment, Blow-dry, Semilac gel polish, BIAB, Spa pedicure, Full body wax, Hydrafacial, Lash lift, Day makeup, and three hammams: Hammam Basic, Traditional Hammam and Royal Hammam. The earlier you book, the more choice of slots you have.
Frequently asked questions
How early should I book before Eid?
At the start of Ramadan for Eid al-Fitr, and one to two weeks ahead for Eid al-Adha. The last few days fill up very fast.
Can I go to the hammam during Ramadan?
Yes, many women go after iftar to avoid fatigue. If you have a health concern, check with your doctor first.
Which nail service is best for Eid?
Semilac gel polish or BIAB, done three or four days before. They stay glossy through the celebrations, even with cooking and cleaning.
Can I get colour and a blow-dry on the same day?
Yes, a blow-dry often follows colour. For Eid, though, do colour one to two weeks ahead and keep the day before for the blow-dry.
