Lash extensions or lash lift in Casablanca: which one?

Lash extensions or a lash lift in Casablanca? Classic vs volume, how long each lasts, aftercare and mascara rules to help you choose well.

Dreaming of longer, more visible lashes without mascara every morning? Two services always come up: lash extensions and the lash lift. Before you book lash extensions in Casablanca, it helps to understand what each technique really does, how long it lasts and what upkeep it needs. Here is a simple guide to choosing based on your natural lashes and your lifestyle.

Lash lift: your own lashes, upgraded

A lash lift works only with your natural lashes. They are laid over a small silicone pad, a first lotion softens their structure so they take an upward curl, and a second lotion sets the shape. A tint can be added to darken light tips.

    What you get:

    • A more open look, like a lash curler that actually stays.
    • No added weight on the lash.
    • Almost zero upkeep: life goes back to normal after the first 24 hours.

Results usually last 6 to 8 weeks, following your lashes' natural growth cycle. The limit: it adds no length or density. If your lashes are very short or sparse, the effect stays subtle.

Lash extensions: tailored length and volume

Lash extensions are fine synthetic lashes bonded to your natural ones with a dedicated adhesive, never touching the skin of the eyelid.

    Classic or volume

    • Classic (one by one): one extension per natural lash. Clean and natural, close to a good mascara.
    • Volume: several ultra-fine lashes fanned onto one natural lash. Fuller and more glamorous, great for sparse lashes.

    Curl and length

The artist picks curl and length according to your eye shape. Lashes that are too long or heavy strain the natural lash: good lash extensions stay in proportion to what your lashes can carry.

Extensions shed with your natural lashes as they cycle out, so you will need infills, often every 2 to 4 weeks depending on your lashes and aftercare.

Lash extensions or lash lift: how to choose

    Ask yourself:

    1. Are my lashes long but straight? A lift is often enough.
    2. Are they short, fine or sparse? Extensions give what a lift cannot.
    3. Do I have time for regular infills? If not, the lift is simpler.
    4. Do I swim, train a lot or go to the hammam often? A lift handles heat and water better; extensions need more care.
    5. Wedding or big event coming? Extensions done a few days before, after any hammam, give photo-ready eyes. Our bridal beauty timeline shows where they fit in the final week.

You don't wear both at the same time: it is one or the other.

    Aftercare and mascara

    After a lash lift

    • No water, steam or hammam for 24 hours.
    • Then a light serum or oil on the lashes keeps them supple.
    • Mascara is fine after 24 hours, though you may not need it.

    After lash extensions

    • Avoid water and steam for 24 to 48 hours while the adhesive cures. That is why lashes are booked after a Moroccan hammam, never just before.
    • No oil-based eye makeup remover: oil weakens the bond.
    • Brush your lashes daily with a clean spoolie.
    • No mascara on extensions and no lash curler.
    • Never pull a loose lash: wait for your infill.

If your eyes are sensitive, if you have reacted to an adhesive or tint before, or if you are pregnant, mention it before the appointment. A patch test is recommended, and see a doctor if irritation persists.

    Lifts and extensions at Chicas

At Chicas Beauty & Spa in Aïn Sebaâ, the Lash lift takes about 60 minutes and a full set of Lash extensions about 120 minutes. We look at your natural lashes with you before choosing, so the length stays in proportion to what they can carry. For a complete eye look, pair them with Eyebrows waxing or brow Glazing; if you are weighing up longer-term brow options, read our microblading and brow glazing guide. Prices are on the treatment menu.

    Frequently asked questions

Do lash extensions damage natural lashes?

When applied properly, at a suitable length and without being ripped off, no. Problems mostly come from overly heavy lashes or pulling extensions off yourself.

How long does an appointment take?

A lash lift takes about an hour. A first set of extensions takes about two hours, especially for volume, and an infill is shorter.

Can I go to the hammam with extensions?

Yes, after 48 hours, but long exposure to steam weakens the adhesive. Don't rub your eyes and pat lashes dry.

Can I wear mascara after a lash lift?

Yes, from 24 hours. Choose an easy-to-remove mascara and take it off gently.
